Sleeping
can be a challenge at times. Your bed and your bedroom can make a big
difference to how well you sleep and reduce the challenge. There are a few
things you can do to improve your sleep patterns and create the sanctuary that
your bedroom should be. A bedroom should be comfortable, warm, and inviting.
The
first step is to make sure you don’t have too much clutter in your bedroom.
This could be under your bed, on cabinets, or hanging out of a draw! Your
bedroom and your king size bed should be reserved for sleep and romance only.
In order to keep your bedroom for the purpose, remove those things that are
just not necessary and put there where they belong. TV’s should be avoided in
the bedroom as should games consoles, exercise equipment, computers, family
photos, and photos of friends. You should limit photographs to those of you and
your loved one and knick-knacks to those that represent and promote calm,
relaxation, and romance.
If
you are considering buying a new king size bed for the purpose of transforming
your room, then make sure you consider your personal tastes and the décor in
your room. Your new bed can make a big difference to the room and the
environment overall when thought is put into the decision. Consider the style
and materials that are going to suit what you already have in the room whether
that’s the furniture, materials, or the décor.
You
can consider rearranging your room as well. The placement of the furniture in
your room can have an effect on how well you sleep. According to the principles
of Feng Shui, you should be able to see the door when lying in your new king
size bed to increase relaxation. You should avoid having furniture in your room
such as a desk. This is related to work and will promote thoughts of work when
you are in your bedroom. Reflective surfaces like the TV or mirrors can make it
more difficult to unwind in the evening.
Keeping
your bedroom cool and dark is a great help. The king size bed you choose could
be the modern leather type or dark timber to achieve the soft and smooth look
that you need. Incorporate this in the bedding you choose as well although make
sure to keep it in tune with the décor in your room. If you have lamps in your
room, then make sure the shades block the light to a certain extent and avoid
keeping a clock that is lit up.
The
colour of your bedding and your walls can make a difference. Keep with the
darker tones that your room needs whilst looking for relaxing shades. You will
find the room calmer when you enter and wind down easier. Cool and darker
colours help a better night’s sleep. Avoid bright colours where you can as they
can cause restlessness. Try playing music quietly in the background. This
should be a relaxing choice of course to help you on your way to slumber.
Candles or incense can also help you sleep, although remember to blow your
candles out before you go to sleep.
A few
little changes to your bedroom and a new bed can help you achieve what you need
to in order to get a great night’s sleep.
