Wood Furniture

If you are wanting to protect your wooden furniture, the most important to thing to do is coat it in a protective sealant. This protects the wood from any moisture that it could face which can seep through into the wood and start making it crack, as this is a big problem when there is snow and freezing rain that can easily be absorbed and ruin the furniture. Another option is to add some covers to the furniture once the sealant has been applied as this adds an extra layer of protection and prevents the ice or water from getting into contact with the wood.

Plastic Furniture

Plastic furniture is easier to care for than wooden furniture because you don’t have to worry about it absorbing any of the winter weather. However, the winter weather can still affect plastic weather on the outside as the coldness can still make the plastic very frail and when it is put under weight (someone sitting on it) it can easily break. Therefore, the best way to care for your plastic furniture would be to get some covers for it or try keep indoors in a garage or if you have any space in your conservatory.

Metal Furniture

The biggest issue with metal furniture is that it can start becoming rusty when hit with snow or freezing rain. When metal starts to suffer from rust it starts to break down and it can become weak. Therefore the recommendations for this type of furniture would be the same as with plastic, to either cover it up or try and find space for it indoors.
