Colours for Your Home According to the Direction

According to Vastu Shastra, colours should be chosen keeping each and every direction of your home in mind. Nowadays, builders are also focused on creating Vastu compliant homes.  For example, the residential properties in Pailan,  near  Behala  are designed keeping the  Vastu considerations  in mind.  Let’s take a look, how the colour schemes are decided as per the Vastu.

·         South-east – Orange, pink and silver colours
·         North-east – Light blue
·         East – White or light blue
·         North – Green, pista green
·         North-west – White, light grey & cream
·         West – Blue or white.
·         South-west – Peach, mud, biscuit colour or light brown.
·         South – Red and Yellow.

Room-Wise Colour Guidelines

According to the Vastu experts, each section of your living space (whether you are having your own apartment or a small flat) should be considered while choosing the colours.  For example, the colour of your bedroom should not be same. You need to take the energy requirement, size and direction of your room into consideration while choosing the room colours.

Master bedroom: Ideally, this room should be in a south-west direction and this should be a place where you come after a hectic day. It should be painted with blue as it promotes a peaceful sleep and rest.

Guest room/ drawing room: North-west is the ideal direction for setting up your drawing or guest room and it should be painted white.

Kitchen: The south-east zone is ideal as your gourmet space and needs attention. The walls of this space should be painted with orange or red.

Bathroom: North-west is also ideal for setting up bathroom and hence, it should be painted with white colour.

Hall: For setting up the hall or a hang out zone, the ideal direction is the north-east direction and hence, should be painted yellow or white.

Home exterior colour: The exterior colour of the house can be yellowish-white or off-white or light mauve or orange, because these colours are suitable for all Rashis.

Which colours you should always avoid

According to the Vastu experts light shades are always good. Dark shades like red, brown, gray, and black may not suit everyone, as they represent fiery planets likes Rahu, Shani, Mars and Sun. Due to high intensity, these colours might affect the energy patterns of your house.
