A Guest Room

I’ve just came back from my Father in Law’s home (Bumiayu, Central Java, Indonesia). The house is an old one; built in 1918. I and my husband captured several spots in the house; one of them is this guest room.

Bathroom Bench

Do you wish you had a bench you could sit on while you dry your feet or put your socks on? Here’s a simple solution which could be fitted into a bathroom as well as a cabana or swimming pool change room. It’s ideal when space is at a premium.
This bench consists of nothing more than two angle brackets fixed to the wall, and a slatted seat which is fixed to the top. Simply enlarge the dimensions if you have sufficient room. The timber should be Oregon or Tasmanian oak. Both are strong and ideal for withstanding the moisture that builds up in bathrooms.

Cycling Tailor

I’m not good with sewing things. Fortunately, there is a tailor man who always helps me. The good thing is, you can call him to come to your home!

Installing a Skylight

A skylight is a fantastic way to let light and heat into dreary rooms. It’s suitable for a roof with a pitch between 15 and 85’’. This is a fixed unit, not to be confused with a roof-mounted window which can be opened.

Putting in a skylight, especially if the ceiling follows the slope of the roof, is not beyond the capability of the average do-it-yourselfer.

Waiting

During fasting month, there are some people that like to spend their afternoon –waiting for the time to open the fasting of the day- by hanging out at anywhere. In these pictures, those people seem to like waiting on the rail train. For me, it’s an unusual place; but for them, perhaps it has become their daily habits.

I captured the moment from the 3rd floor of Bogor Trade Mall (Bogor, West Java, Indonesia).
