A Towel Rail

A very good way to make a kitchen (or bathroom) door more useful, is to install a towel rail on the back of it. You will find that most internal doors are hollow, preventing you from screwing things properly to their thin facing.

So, the method of fixing requires a bit of ingenuity. The answer is the hollow wall anchor or the spring toggle. These devices are natty little fellows which you poke through a hole in the door.

When they are tightened, part of them folds back securely against the back of the door facing. This results in immense holding power.

we used to have one before, but I don't like it because it wasn't sturdy enough.
